Great Barr Hall Action Committee
As the hospital came to the end of its working life there were concerns about what would happen to the site. In December 1987 the Great Barr Hall Action Committee (GBHAC) was formed to resist insensitive development of the Great Barr Hall Estate (which includes the redundant St Margaret’s Hospital site) and to share its unique knowledge and resources with interested parties.
Peter Allen and Bob Winkle (Beacon Action Group) were founder members with Bruce George MP.
